Senior Capacity Strategy & Development Analyst - Warwick (Hybrid) - up to £55,829 - 12 month FTC

What the world needs now…is a clean energy future that works for everyone. What we need now… are the people who can make it happen. Is that you?

As a Senior Capacity Strategy & Development Analyst, you will support and develop capacity arrangements, so our customers can buy the pipeline capacity needed to flow energy across the GB network and to/from the EU.

Working within the Gas System Operator (GSO) directorate, you will have the opportunity to demonstrate and develop your leadership skills, leading the Auctions sub-team in facilitating numerous capacity auctions each year, which generate circa £700m/year in revenue.

As a forward thinker, you will support the development of the capacity commercial and regulatory framework and capacity incentives for the next regulatory period (RIIO-T3), to include any necessary process, legislative or system changes and the associated Code, Licence and IT system changes.

Your analytical and communication skills will be essential to this area, with clearly articulated responses supported by robust data gathering and manipulation. The specialist capacity knowledge you will develop, will help us to identify and resolve any key operational / commercial issues relating to the GB and EU capacity arrangements, and influence the direction of travel when changes are proposed.

The strong emphasis we have on finding better ways to do things may mean you are proposing and driving changes to not only our systems, but also our approach to executing established processes. We will be keen to learn from your previous experiences and always open to new ideas.

Whilst this role has no direct reports, at working level you will be positioned to lead the Auctions sub-team, which consists of four members currently. You would be expected to provide clarity of direction, manage workload planning and match development needs to tasks as far as possible, building capability and resilience within the established team.

To be successful in this role you will have a logical, creative and practical approach to problem solving with the ability to structure and articulate complex problems. In your current / previous role you will have developed strong data analysis skills including the ability to manipulate and interpret data and present trends.

At National Gas, we really take the time to understand what you want to achieve out of your role and career, that’s why we encourage people to speak about their personalised development plan early on.
