Job Type:  Full Time
Department:  Gas Transmission
Job Function:  Information Technology
Job posting date:  25 Apr 2024

About The Role

Role - IT Risk and Controls Specialist
Type - Permanent
Location - Hybrid/Warwick

National Gas has an exciting and important role in net zero and in leading a fair energy transition for the UK. We will do this by developing the green gas system of tomorrow, while delivering the natural gas needs of today.

In 2023 the National Gas Transmission & Gas Metering business separated from National Grid and became an independent company, however from a systems and applications perspective many services are still being provided by National Grid under Transitional Service Agreements.

National Gas are now preparing for a full system separation which includes the migration of the IT control framework. As IT Risk & Controls Specialist you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of this framework. The role will involve working alongside key IT stakeholders (including system owners, control owners, and control operators) and external third parties to shape the future of the controls environment.

Following the separation period, the role will evolve to maintain the controls environment, support the annual internal controls lifecycle with a key focus on continuous improvement and automation, whilst also providing an advisory service to our first line and senior management. Another key element of this role will be to support the business in preparing for "UK SOx or an equivalent reform" that may be on the horizon.

This is a Hybrid role between Home and our Head Office in Warwick
