National Grid is hiring a Senior Specialist of Performance and Governance. The position can be based in Waltham, MA or Brooklyn, NY, or Syracuse, NY.

Job Purpose

Use your technical skills as a key member on a team tasked with management of a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) database. Responsible for maintaining the data elements of the GRC database, which is used to track compliance information for all US companies, and other systems that may be developed to support the US Compliance Office. Implement performance management processes including governance, reporting, test protocols, and performance metrics to guide the Company’s assurance work. Identification of performance trends through data analysis is a key deliverable of the senior analyst role and supports an evolving aspect of the US Compliance Office’s energetic, fast-paced environment with high visibility across all US functions of National Grid. 

Key Accountabilities

•    Design and develop GRC configuration enhancements to support user friendly functionality to ensure alignment between regulatory compliance objectives and company processes.
•    Coordinate large data file migrations between user generated spreadsheets and GRC system.  Validate accurate data loads via quality control analysis in test environments.  
•    Prepare reports/scorecards on compliance control testing and collaborate with stakeholders to improve processes and results. 
•    Monitor KPIs and KRIs.
•    Coordinate annual controls review and certification processes across the US business.
•    Lead effort to establish Archer GRC as single repository for US business obligations and controls. 
•    Perform ‘User Acceptance Testing’ for configuration changes to ensure new functionality works as designed. 


•    5-7 or more years’ experience generating performance results reporting.  Bachelors degree and/or professional certification preferred.
•    Advanced Excel proficiency required
•    Ability to grasp complex issues and effectively integrate, compile, and analyze information and data
•    Thorough knowledge of performance management measurement techniques.
•    Understands well defined goals and sets priorities to reach them.  
•    Able to makes decisions in a timely manner while balancing internal and external demands. 
•    Strong understanding of regulatory obligations and controls.  
•    RSA Archer GRC (Governance, Risk and Compliance) database knowledge preferred.
•    Manage stakeholder relationships by providing trusted advice related to performance management and seeking feedback to continuously improve performance analysis.
•    Facilitate continuous improvement by contributing to performance breakdown and root cause analysis reviews with business.
•    Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with peers, across teams, and with management
•    Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
