National Grid is hiring a Senior Process Safety Engineer for our Gas Complex Capital Delivery department in Waltham, MA.

Our Team

Our team works on Gas Complex Capital Projects supporting the growing Process Safety initiatives within Gas Asset Management and Engineering. 

What You'll Do

  • Coordinate Gas Asset Management and Engineering process safety reviews such as HAZOPs, LOPAs, and QRAs for specific engineering projects
  • Maintain the Gas Asset Management and Engineering Process Safety Competency matrix 
  • Manage the MOC (Management of Change) process and action item database for the NE Gas Business 
  • Implement SIS/SIL register for NE gas equipment for heaters, boilers, and other control equipment at pressure regulating and CNG stations
  • Assist in conducting bi-weekly Gas Asset Management and Engineering Process Safety meetings
  • Manage and implement Process Safety KPIs

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited engineering school required  
  • 3+ years of process safety or process engineering experience required
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and controls with expertise in Process Safety ie; HAZOP, PHA, LOPA, QRA preferred
  • Knowledge of relevant industry practice, standards and legislation preferred
  • Valid driver's license required

Salary

$100,000 - $130,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
