Job Purpose

Within the New England Gas & Electric commodities, this highly visible role will support and contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and performance measurements for the organization. 

The opportunity will assist and lead efforts to identify, plan and implement key projects to improve quality, reduce costs, increase productivity and improve cycle time by reducing wasted time, rework, etc. resulting in significant business improvement and customer satisfaction.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsibilities will include supporting and leading the development of business cases, problem statements, mapping processes, analyzing / interpreting data, identifying root causes, developing / implementing solutions and creating key performance indicators (KPIs) and controls to help maintain and sustain process improvements and drive efficiency gains.
  • Assist in driving end to end (E2E) accountability within a process and the organization by helping define and refine roles, responsibilities, clarity around process steps, and measuring within the process and between functional areas.
  • Maintain process maps, measurements and project updates in the respective systems.  This will include tracking and maintaining a list of ongoing process improvements projects.
  • Support team members on process initiatives, data mining, and analysis.
  • Manage teams in an Agile environment through matrixed organizational reporting structures.
  • The role will have the opportunity to collaboratively work across commodities (Gas & Electric) and jurisdictions (NY and MA) to assist in achieving organizational goals (OKRs).  The team member will Participate in projects/initiatives with upstream and downstream departments to maximize accuracy and efficiency of servicing operations
  • End to end (E2E) process improvement will be using proven performance methodologies (Lean Six Sigma = LSS) and tools to develop data – driven decision making for senior management.
  • Act as a change agent while supporting cross-functional programs to identify, recommend and implement improvements to existing processes across all cross-functional teams.


  • Bachelor’s degree from college or university, preferably in engineering, business, finance, mathematics, economics, computer science, or related discipline with 3 - 5 years’ experience. 
  • Gas and Electric utility experience a plus.
  • Able to work effectively through complex problems with the ability to assess gaps and opportunities to inform strategy and to prioritize initiatives and action plans with senior leadership.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, time management, interpersonal, collaboration, oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong team player, results orientated, dedication to excellence, strong attention to detail, and sense of urgency to achieve business objectives
  • Demonstrated ability to work with cross – functional teams.
  • Driven: Pro-active and self-motivated, inspiring enthusiasm about the business and engaging others to create a positive culture with high morale and strong performance with a focus on excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Office – Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.  Blueworks is a plus. 
  • Ability to understand and analyze data; familiarity with analytical software (e.g. Power BI, SAP, Salesforce, Tableau, Minitab) a plus
