Senior Analyst, FERC Planning, Budgeting and Performance

About the Position:

Jurisdiction Finance, Senior Analyst, FERC Planning, Budgeting and Performance supports the review of financial performance budgets and metrics.  Responsible for building budgets to support performance targets.  Responsible for preparing budgets to drive Jurisdiction financial performance.

Reports to the Manager, FERC Planning, Budgeting, and Performance and supports the preparation of annual operating and capital budgets. 

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
  • Supports planning, budgeting and performance activities in the jurisdiction to establish financial budgets.
  • Partners with the jurisdiction to develop operating expenses, establish revenue, net margin and forecasts.
  • Assists in the development of the short and long-term business plan by collecting stakeholder data
  • Provides performance modelling to support planning and budgeting scenario analyses.
  • Prepares forecasts, budgets and KPIs to increase financial profitability, maximize profits and achieve growth in the jurisdiction.
  • Collects budgets and expenses to build a preliminary budgets.
  • Prepares final budgets for review and implements any adjustments.    
  • Applies US GAAP, SOX and SEC requirements to budgeting and planning activities.
  • Responsible for supporting financial and non-financial controls to meet business requirements.

  • Accounting practices
  • US GAAP, SOX, SEC requirements and IFRS
  • Budgeting, accurate forecasting and KPIs
  • Company operating and business plans
  • Analysis of business performance

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s preferred, with a minimum of 3 years in finance roles with increasing scope and leading financial processes
  • Experience in financial management and organizational budget planning
  • Demonstrated ability to create and financial metrics and budgets
  • Knowledge of utility Finance practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge of finance systems and business process
  • Strong financial acumen and analytic skills
  • Ability to work across department and geographic boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities through effective planning and execution skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
