Job Purpose
National Grid IT team is currently seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented leader to lead and manage Product Planning within our Solutions Engineering team as the Principle Product Manager. This role will be responsible for managing the IT Foundations product planning processes by collaborating with the Enterprise Architecture, IT Strategy, EPMO, CIO & Engineering teams to deliver business outcomes. As an experienced Product Manager, you will manage a portfolio of IT Foundation investments in the area of – IT Planning, Cloud Enablement, DevSecOps, API-led Integration Services, Data Platforms, Advanced Analytics (AI/M), that incorporates digital delivery centric best in class product planning practices. This role will report to the Sr. Director of Products & Platforms Planning within the National Grid IT organization.
Key Accountabilities
Product Managers must possess a broad base of skills and knowledge spanning digital technology, strategy and business planning, user experience design, engineering, and agile/lean development practices. They must possess an entrepreneurial drive to develop new products while managing stakeholder needs and timeframes to broker complex relationships that evolve into real solutions. The ultimate success of a product manager hinges on their ability to guide their peers while influencing decision-makers
• Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of innovative digital solutions
• Work with Enterprise Architecture (EA) and IT Strategy to gain an understanding of strategic enterprise technology roadmap
• Provide insights into product, technology, and market trends
• Support the IT Strategy and EA setting the long-term vision and strategy for platforms and high value workflows, and communicate this strategy to all the relevant participants and partners.
• Supports bringing new technology solutions to NG with return-on-investment analysis
• Gather and manage product planning feedback through surveys
• Monitor and report on product & platform business value KPIs
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to scope, design, concept test and deliver innovative solutions
• Own and drive development of business cases and operating plans
• Prepares and presents product planning communications for executives and stakeholders
• Be a valued contributor to evolution of IT Foundations & Tools. Benchmark and incorporate standard/best methodologies.
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
- Able to influence and manage internal and external stakeholders.
- A good track record of interfacing with direct and third-party suppliers delivering services in onshore/offshore model.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or in related field; Master's Degree preferred
• 10+ years of professional experience in software technologies
• Strong understanding of digital products & platforms like Salesforce, Mulesoft, ServiceNow, Snowflake, DevOps tools, etc.
• Excellent leadership skills with experience collaborating with cross-functional teams
• The ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines and influence through persuasive written and verbal communication
• Thorough knowledge of Agile software delivery models (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, etc.)
• An ability to think strategically and creatively
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both technical and non-technical discussions.
• Superior interpersonal and communication skills
• The capacity for self-motivation, independent initiative and creative problem-solving
• Diligent attention to detail and strong technical intuition
• The ability to manage time and schedules to meet aggressive deadlines and influence through persuasive written and verbal communication

Preferred Qualifications:
• 2+ years experience as a Product Manager in a technology company
• Certified Product Manager
