What you'll do

What you’ll do as a Principal Enterprise Architect at National Grid

  • As a member of the Enterprise Architecture team reporting into the CTO organization, you will create architectural artefacts such as target and reference architectures, principles, and patterns based on business and IT strategies and roadmaps.
  • Create Technology architecture artefacts in support of National Grid critical business capabilities for our Gas and Electric businesses. Some examples include Asset management, GeoLocation, Meter Management, Network & Asset Planning, WholeSale Operations, Distributed Energy, Work order management, Workforce data, Customer, etc.
  • As our landscape evolves, you will be called in as an expert consultant to assist in key technology decisions across a variety of disciplines including Cloud, Data/Analytics, AI/ML, SAP, Asset Management (e.g., IBM Maximo), IoT, Integration (MuleSoft), or other technology domains as needed.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Good presentation and communication skills with a high degree of comfort with technical and business audiences.
  • Experience working with stakeholders to identify relevant requirements and understand how those requirements fit into the broader enterprise context for the application/platform.

What you'll need

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computing, science, mathematics or related discipline
  • Well-versed with IT fundamentals including project delivery methodologies like Agile and Waterfall, IT investment/portfolio management, Enterprise Architecture, information risk management, ITIL, and Service Management
  • Have used architecture tools such as System Architect, Rational Rose, Casewise, Aris or equivalent
  • Additional professional qualifications or membership of relevant body/society is desirable
