Job Purpose

Product managers are builders that bear overall responsibility for product definition and delivery. Product managers work with design, strategy and engineering teams to create a compelling vision culminating with delivery of a disruptive product to market that fits customer needs. The product manager facilitates the product requirements gathering across the team, and manages the SDF process gates and deadlines to ensure successful and hygienic delivery.

Product Managers must possess a broad base of skills and knowledge spanning digital technology, strategy and business planning, user experience design, engineering, and agile/lean development practices.  They must possess an entrepreneurial drive to develop new products while managing stakeholder needs and timeframes to broker complex relationships that evolve into real solutions. The ultimate success of a product manager hinges on their ability to guide their peers while influencing decision-makers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own end-to-end product cycle for a discrete  platform servicing both external users and internal programs
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to scope, design, concept test, and deliver innovative solutions
  • Assist with the development of business cases and operating plans
  • Clarify requirements and delivery expectations with business stakeholders
  • Own the creation and prioritization of the product backlog for specific digital products
  • Distill the product down to what is desirable, viable, and feasible to deliver rapid and regular business value for the client
  • Monitor and report on product KPIs
  • Develop materials to communicate progress to stakeholders
  • Practice & promote new, agile ways of working
  • Act as the voice of the customer in the definition of innovative digital solutions
  • Develop EPICs, features, user stories, and platform roadmaps
  • Gather and manage product feedback through surveys, concept testing, analytics tools, and A/B testing
  • Be a champion of the MVP concept, distilling the product down to what is desirable, viable and feasible
  • Support the AMI data Strategy setting the long-term vision and strategy for platforms and high value workflows, and communicate this strategy to all the relevant participants and partners.

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

  • Able to influence and manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • A good track record of interfacing with direct and third-party suppliers delivering services in onshore/offshore model.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related field
  • Experience delivering products and services with proven business impact that customers love
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and running multi disciplinary scrum teams
  • Technological domain knowledge to understand integration of digital products with technology systems
  • Experience with analytical tools to gather insights into product adoption and tracking product KPIs
  • Ability to navigate complexity of interactions between P&T, IT and Business stakeholders
  • Experience working on large scale data platform and analytics offerings
  • Understanding of digital platforms like Snowflake, Hadoop, Oracle, and data tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of AMI technologies – Head-End System (HES), Meter Data Management System (MDMS), AMI network ecosystem, meter data flow, etc.
  • Knowledge of AMI meter devices & apps – Landis+Gyr or Itron
  • 10+ years of professional experience in software technologies
  • 2+ years experience as a Product Manager in a technology company
  • Master's Degree or certification in Product Management
