Job Purpose

The candidate will bring together the know-how, the drive to learn more and the willingness to take on new things combining several aspects of the Job Purpose scope to help NGV growth and partnerships in the Northeast US. The role holder will perform production modeling, engineering evaluations and more to support project development, origination, strategic decision making, project partnerships, and risk appraisals associated with large scale renewable energy and energy storage projects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Analysis for projects and partnerships to interconnect, develop and implement transmission for utility or large-scale renewable generation integration, addressing all necessary aspects of the interconnection process, working with others as needed.
  • Pursue technical assessments of electric transmission and substations requirements, such as siting, routing, on-land, off-shore, costs and so forth, as needed to help pursue most economically advantageous options, feasibility and project opportunities.
  • Lead modelling & analysis of specified US Northeast electricity markets to support investment decisions, projects, business planning, strategic planning & new business opportunities -
    • Support assessments of regional wholesale energy markets working closely with the NGV commercial team and market fundamentals
    • Perform engineering economic studies using production modelling, develop cases to support market scenarios for renewable technologies.
  • Participate in RTO/ISO regional committee meetings to capture technical, regulatory and market changes, provide analysis of critical changes and report to the NGV team accordingly.
  • Support RTO/ISO applications, processes and/or documentation for NGV participation, working with finance teams and BD area leads.
  • Participate in JV Partnerships projects as needed.
  • Manage in-house electricity market models ensuring they are fit for purpose;
  • Articulate & explain market assessments to internal or external stakeholders, as needed.


  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Mathematics, Business or related quantitative fields.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following RTO/ISOs - NYISO, PJM and/or ISO-NE.
  • Experience in transmission system, power flow fundamentals and LMP formation is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex model outputs into business insight & articulate the impact of results.
  • Broad knowledge of US power industry structures, policies, regulations & market fundamentals is essential.
  • Familiarity with recent trends in on-shore and off-shore wind, other large-scale renewable generation, energy storage, conventional generation and emerging technologies such as green hydrogen.
  • Experience using a commercially available production cost modeling tool is highly desired.
  • Experiences in ERCOT, SPP, CAISO and/or MISO can be a plus.
