Job Purpose

•    Ensure accuracy, integrity and completeness of actuals and relevant interim and year end disclosures
•    Manage QRF (quarterly rolling forecast) process
•    Manage IT & Digital functional level financial reporting
•    Build strong relationships across finance and IT & Digital to ensure financial deliverables and timescales are agreed and adhered to
•    Prepare insightful narrative in key functional financial reports
•    Support the delivery of change across finance and the business, role-modelling new ways of working and owning delivery of key outcomes to drive the improvement of long term business capability.
•    Proactively seek opportunities to drive continuous improvement in processes through the implementation of best practice, drawing on external sources and internal references, to drive increased value for National Grid
•    Responsible for executing appropriate financial controls

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead a results-driven team by taking a strategic and technical view of performance management by involving employees in planning, relationship building, decision-making, forecasting, and analysis processes.
  • Interpret, explain, communicate, drive and hold the business accountable for financial performance.
  • Support the development of strategic business plans.
  • Manage budget guidance by partnering across finance to obtain financial information for drafting budgets and forecasts.
  • Partner with Business Directors to conduct Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting on performance assumptions when drafting budgets and forecasts.
  • Utilize historical data to create assumptions and forecasts to support financial performance.
  • Provide ad-hoc forecasting and budget to meet the needs of the business area.
  • Provide counsel to employees, manages third party consultants and contractors, and advises senior leaders as necessary.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree required and MBA preferred in Finance or Business
•    7+ years of progressive Finance experience

•    Reporting financial information (PowerPoint presentations)
•    Accounting and reporting pronouncements 
•    Governance, risk, and internal control frameworks 
•    Control framework assessment and assurance 
•    Financial modelling (MS Excel) 
•    Planning, forecasting, and budgeting 
•    Transaction and close process management 
•    Financial risk management

$118k to $167k a year, Boston

$127k to $179k a year, NYC
