Job Purpose

The Atmospheric Corrosion Field Supervisor is responsible for contractor oversight to monitor compliance with safety regulations, improved worker safety and ensuring timely completions for all inspections and repairs in Massachusetts. 

Key Accountabilities

Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to) 

  • Conduct site visits to oversee atmospheric corrosion inspections and repairs (contractor performed)
  • Review and approve recommendations made by the contractor, propose alternative recommendations as needed, ensure work orders are created in Maximo as needed
  • Work with Engineering on as needed basis on proposed repairs and/ or replacements to provide additional input
  • Manage inspections and repairs to ensure timely completion and adherence to compliance and contract
  • Communicate and follow up with key Stakeholders to ensure flaggers are scheduled and paid for to complete timely inspections and repair
  • Motivate and influence others, using basic data, logic and effective communication skills to ensure atmospheric corrosion program is in adherence of compliance with National Grid safety and quality standards
  • Work with clerk on invoices to ensure accuracy based on agreed contract language or extras on performed work
  • Provide training and education to internal/external stakeholders on atmospheric corrosion as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 4+ years of supervisory experience with the proven ability to lead, motivate and inspire a team of contractors
  • Working knowledge of Gas Corrosion Compliance, Mandated Programs, Gas construction practices, Gas maintenance, Gas Engineering, or other related function preferred 
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and understanding Codes, Regulations, Engineering Plans preferred
  • Proven ability to work in a co-operative manner with Municipalities, Third Party Contractors, and Internal stakeholders 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point required
  • Proven experience quickly becoming proficient with database and software systems preferred
  • NACE certification preferred
  • Operator Qualification or the ability to acquire Operator Qualification required
  • Familiarity with Occupational Safety Health Act (OSHA) guidelines preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required
