Starting on either May 26th or June 8th, Gridterns experience activities such as attending first day orientation, working on marketable projects deliverables within your department, volunteer opportunities, site visits, a range of Lunch and Learn sessions and much more!

Opportunities May Include
Responsibilities vary on your area of interest and department placement. We hire from a range of majors for our Gridtern program. See below for some examples:
Supply Chain Management ▪ Business Management
Tackle category management, supplier relationship management and commercial negotiations
Past Departments included: Electric Project Development, Resourcing Planning, Retail Strategy
Marketing ▪ Graphic Design ▪ Public Relations
Spearhead event activities with the fcus of energy efficiency, safety, and National Grid brand awareness
Represent the company at off-site events to educate customers
Past Departments included: Community and Customer Management, Stakeholder Engagement, Customer Growth
Human Resources ▪ Labor Relations
Plan employee events, spearhead meetings, and focus on strategic workforce planning
Collaborate with Talent Acquisition to learn full cycle recruiting and program management
Past Departments included: Campus Recruiting, Employee Engagement, Human Resource Business Partnering
Finance ▪ Accounting ▪ Data Analytics ▪ Economics
Tasked with allocation reviews and maintaining the selection of expense charges in order to gage business efficiency
Review and analyze data within the business to help look for inconsistencies in allocation entries
Responsible for the internal and external financial reporting process for the FERC entities
Past Departments included: Corporate Finance, Finance Business Partner, Financial Close Process, Customer Energy Integration
National Grid’s Talent Acquisition Team shares qualified candidates’ applications with departments participating in the Gridtern program based on the interests you have noted in your resume and cover letter. Please note: if advanced to the next step in the selection process, you will be asked to submit your candidate profile to a specific department(s). At that time, you will receive more information on the department, role, location, and detailed responsibilities of the position(s).
Currently have a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA (unless current first year student)
Have accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
Authorized to work in the United States for the entire duration of the internship
Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for Fall 2020 Semester
Some intern positions will require a valid US Driver’s license with a safe driving history. This qualification will be included in department specific intern position(s) during the next step of the selection process
