Senior Data Analyst, HR Business Services

Job Purpose

Drives improvements in the quality, capability, and measurement of business solutions. Responsible for supporting and leveraging technology to sustain operations, deliver reporting, data analysis, process improvement and performance management.  

Key Accountabilities

•    Support the analysis of systems and processes across business functions within the end to end process to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improving operational performance and self-service. 
•    Provide data analysis to support delivering business results, improving service delivery, maintaining compliance and reporting.
•    Use root cause analysis and data analytics, leveraging Six-Sigma and Lean techniques, to investigate the cause of performance issues and co-develop countermeasures and action plans. 
•    Responsible for designing, coding, and modifying our Case and Knowledge Management System and Intranet presence from layout to function to ensure high acceptance / usage rates.
•    Primary point of contact to advise, troubleshoot, and address issues with the current toolset (i.e. Case Management System, IVR, databases, etc.). 
•    Responsible for developing metrics, measurements, and reporting methodology to measure performance across the process.
•    Motivate and support the Employee Services’ team in delivering against Service Level Agreements, KPIs, and operational measures.
•    Acquire up-to-date information regarding industry best practices and latest technology to improve internal practices, reduce operational cost and increase operational efficiency
•    Manage existing databases for Employee Services through the development of database maintenance procedures including generation, initial load, change control and archiving to ensure data integrity.
•    Collect and analyze data and process metrics, recommend improvements, and/or drive improvement efforts to increase productivity and customer service for Employee Services
•    Facilitate workshops and meetings, using cross-functional teams to undertake analysis, solve problems, drive engagement, and develop solutions to process issues.


•    Preferred BS, Human Resources, or related information technology experience
•    Preferred experience with content management platforms (e.g. Case Management System, Knowledge Base System) and an ability to translate business needs into client-friendly functions
•    Preferred experience with HR Information Systems (e.g. SAP, SuccessFactors)
•    Leadership, communication, training, workshop, and meeting facilitation experience required
•    Expert-level proficiency in MS Office/Office 365 products, including by not limited to Excel, Access, SharePoint, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint 
•    Ability to lead and deliver improvement projects, as well as challenge and support colleagues to improve performance
•    Experience of managing project teams and projects independently
•    Ability to see multiple relationships between data to identify root causes of a problem and develop permanent solutions to systematic issues
•    Ability to consistently maintain a team environment by openly sharing information, exchanging ideas, coordinating activities, peer coaching, and /or jointly solving problems 
•    Ability to travel to other National Grid locations
