Department & Job Responsibilities Overview

Our LNG Operations team is responsible for the safety, compliance, reliability, and efficiency of our Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) facility within Providence, RI. The team supports our gas distribution network which is used to supplement pipeline gas when our customer demand exceeds supply. For your summer you will assist the team in supporting daily operations. Specific projects will vary due to the nature of this teams work and would be identified during the interview process.

With National Grid’s commitment to safety, this role requires candidates to have a valid U.S. Driver’s License.

What You’ll Need

  • Availability to start on program start date, June 5, 2023
  • Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for Fall 2023 Semester
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree
  • Majoring in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States
  • Located within a commutable distance to the identified work location for the summer
  • Must have a valid U.S. Driver’s License

Salary Range

$21.00 - $25.00 an hour (Undergraduate Student)

$32.00 an hour (Graduate Student)

Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year.
