Job Purpose
Assist in the oversight of T&D inspections and continuous improvement of National Grids electric transmission and distribution systems.
Key Accountabilities
- Continuously improve the inspection and maintenance program ensuring national grid meets and exceeds our mandatory inspections and repair requirements
- Ability to develop an inspection/elevated voltage testing schedule that will ensuring we meet all of our mandated inspection requirements
- Analyze inspections and maintenance activities in a clear and understandable format to management and external regulators
- Exercise independent judgment in managing daily operations and resolving issues while remaining accountable for all actions to next-level management
- Monitor and challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek ways to do things better in order to drive greater efficiencies within the Inspection and Maintenance program
- Produce high level and detailed models and inspection schedules to support successful delivery on our mandated I&M targets
- Assist in managing the day to day/annual inspection related issues with contractors and internal stakeholders
- Prepare and write relevant documentation on performance metrics or department statistics and present or assist in assembling presentations to demonstrate findings
- Ability to extract data and assemble in a clear concise manner
- Accurately prepare monthly billing and tracking for contractor inspections
- Accurately provide ad-hoc data requests for Inspection and Maintenance stakeholders
Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics, analytics, project management or similar discipline is preferred with a minimum of 8 years relevant work experience or an Associate’s degree in engineering, statistics, analytics, project management or similar discipline with a minimum of 10 years relevant work experience
- Proficient in data analytics and analyzing distribution/transmission assets and inspections
- Advanced Excel, Python, VBA, SQL, or other programming skills; familiarity with Power BI or other data visualization / dashboard development packages is a plus
- Familiarity with STORMS is preferred
- Familiar with distribution/transmission line overhead and underground programs including Inspection and Maintenance
- Proven analytical skills and the ability to work independently or in groups to achieve objectives
- Ability to research, compile, coordinate, schedule, review, document, organize and verify data and conduct independent analysis to identify inconsistencies
- Demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally to the organization
- Must have a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving history
- Preferred location is Syracuse with hybrid working options

$95,000 - $112,000
