Job Purpose

The Investment Recovery Specialist works to ensure that surplus and/or scrap materials are inventoried and distributed/disposed of in a financially sound manner for the National Grid Supply Chain organization. 

Key Accountabilities
  • Coordinate the sale/disposal of scrap and surplus materials/equipment across National Grid CNY locations with the Material Yard Supervisors and external contractors.
  • Administer the creation and execution of scrap and surplus master service agreements (MSAs).
  • Administer existing scrap and surplus MSAs and pricing agreements for the sale and/or disposal of materials.
  • Negotiate pricing for the sale of scrap and/or surplus materials.
  • Process inventory/asset disposal material transfers using ERP system compatibility.
  • Travel to various yard/field locations across the service territory as needed for the inspection and/or showing of materials designated for sale or disposal.
  • Travel to vendors supporting Investment Recovery contracts as needed for audits and downstream compliance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain or similar degree.
  • Strong time management.
  • Knowledge of and expertise in the utility, oil/gas industries to include equipment and expendables preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid computer skills to include the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Must be a team player and able to work well w/ a variety of individuals within and outside the company.
  • Knowledge of recycling outlets/environmental processes.
  • Project/Contract Management skills.
