National Grid is hiring an Engineer for our Civil and Structural Engineer Department in Hicksville, NY.
Job Purpose
To provide expertise to projects requiring civil and structural engineering design and analysis services.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide expert engineering support in field of expertise to ensure cost effective and appropriate option selection for project design and delivery.
- Ensure that all lessons learned relevant to National Grid policy and process, are incorporated into best practice.
- Provide assurance, through stage-by-stage confirmation, that the project can proceed through to eventual commercial service.
- Provide support on the health of project design engineering and commissioning through both project audit and incident analysis with the objective of both recommending improvements to performance and providing reassurance of the status of the project.
- Work seamlessly with the delivery units to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the capital program, whilst ensuring the execution of National Grid governance requirements.
- Audit and inspect project design and construction activities to ensure compliance with design assurance processes and quality management procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering
- Master's degree in civil engineering preferred
- 3 to 5 years of civil engineering or related experience
- PE license, PE EIT certificate preferred or ability to obtain PE license
