Finance Operations, Senior Analyst, FERC Accounting & Reporting is responsible for performing Accounting and Reconciliation for FERC and GAAP. Captures accounting transactions using financial systems. Responsible for identifying and remediating accounting discrepancies to produce accurate and credible financial information. Prepares financial statement analytics and Flux analysis. Prepares Financial Statements in accordance with US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards and ensures timely filing. Provides lead support in preparing FERC reports and financial statements. Utilizes data to review and provide financial information and ensure credible reporting.
Reports to the Manager, FERC Accounting & Reporting and is responsible for preparing reports to support Financial Accounting and reporting requirements.
Supports month-end accounting close process to ensure timely, accurate and complete recording of financial transactions.
Responsible for completing month-end accounting activities to ensure timely filing.
Responsible for meeting financial filings and reporting deadlines.
Responsible for the preparation and meeting deadlines of FERC/GAAP financial statements and statutory filings.
Perform monthly account reconciliation and review account activities to ensure proper account reconciliation.
Prepares records and processes accounting transactions and ensures allocation to appropriate accounts for accurate and credible data.
Assembles and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with audits.
Coordinate with various departments and to compile and support financial information.
Prepares non-financial FERC reporting such as statistical reports, EIA, state and regulatory reports.
Responsible for following US GAAP and other accounting standards.
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years in Finance, Accounting and or Financial Reporting with increasing responsibility.
Passed CPA Exam (preferred).
Knowledge of general ledger platforms, SAP and BI Hanna preferred.
Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other MS Office applications.
Experience reviewing and resolving data discrepancies.
Able to assess accounting issues and recommend solutions.
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
