National Grid is hiring a Lead Auditor for our US Audit department in Brooklyn, NY.

Job Purpose

To lead a professional audit team responsible for conducting operational, financial, regulatory, and compliance audits, as well as other projects, while maintaining objectivity and independence. Auditors effectively plan and execute their assignments, both independently and within a team structure, to contribute to the delivery of National Grid’s annual audit program.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead all aspects of audit activities including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, report drafting, work paper documentation, follow-up and tracking of management's corrective actions in response to findings, and verification of issue closure.
  • Design, manage and ensure the delivery of the Internal and external Audit Program.
  • Lead our group of internal auditors and maintain the audit register.
  • Maintain and Manage the business management systems in accordance to relevant ISO Accreditations.
  • Lead appropriate Group Audit Policy dissemination and implementation.
  • Lead all aspects of audit activities including risk assessments, audit planning, audit testing, control evaluation, report drafting, work paper documentation, follow-up and tracking of management's corrective actions in response to findings, and verification of issue closure.
  • Work independently, be self-motivated and manage work within agreed timelines, while producing high quality deliverables (audit work papers, audit reports and other documents).
  • Leverage or develop a solid understanding of business processes, corporate strategy, controls and risks to provide reliable and independent assurance on the design and effectiveness of the control framework.
  • Lead Corporate Audit to ensure audit plans are aligned and risks identified.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree - Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering
  • 3+ Years experience of Audit, in a large energy company or functional / accounting experience
  • MBA (Desirable)
