Job Purpose

Reporting directly to National Grid plc’s Enterprise Process Owner, the purpose of the Enterprise Process Owner Director for the Join to Leave (J2L) process is to support a large scale complex strategic global HR change transformation by ensuring the end-to-end design, development, and execution of initiatives to deliver a best-in-class J2L process globally and initiatives to deliver the transformation globally (US and UK) by:

  • Supporting strategy and executive level leadership across the cross-functional J2L related activities
  • Supporting strategy and executive level leadership across the diverse range of US and UK transformation and change-related activities
  • Improving the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery of the join to leave journey of applicants and colleagues
  • Evolving the operating model and delivery model of J2L related activities to ensure alignment with Group Strategy, Purpose, Vision, and Values

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the strategic transformation and change requirements across the global J2L function and work collaboratively with the Enterprise Process Owner to shape the portfolio and prioritise investment and resources that will deliver the greatest benefit for the function and the plc
  • Develop best-in-class process design and identify initiatives and to execute already planned initiatives to achieve the target state design for J2L
  • Support / own the J2L process design, system, and operationalisation decisions for the J2L process, with visibility on budget
  • Work with the Executive Sponsor, Enterprise Process Owner, and Enterprise Business Serivces (EBS) to design and manage the J2L process
  • Ensure the process outcomes & performance metrics are met by facilitating initiative execution both by leading initiatives and by providing a PMO-like function for initiatives led by other stakeholders
  • Coordinate with Enterprise Process Owner to report out proposed performance targets to the Group Exec and oversee execution of activities related to the target
  • Drive continuous capability improvement and initiatives to improve J2L colleague and applicant experience and to deliver on HR North Star vision

Qualifications

  • Significant and varied strategic, operational, HR, and colleague leadership experience, especially with senior-executive teams
  • Significant experience and track record of building, leading and delivering large, diverse, multi-disciplinary projects and transformations
  • Skilled in strategic portfolio management and experience with executive-level engagement
  • Skilled in strategic portfolio management with experience of related executive-level engagement and facilitating discussion to evaluate complex competing priorities against resource constraints
  • Significant experience and track record working in the HR function of public utility companies or similar regulated industries
  • Familiarity with rules and regulations around US unions
