About the role

As Development Engineer, you’ll work on the implementation of our high value, network innovation project RICA (Retro-fitted Insulated Cross Arm).  Focused on developing technology for our overhead line transmission, you’ll manage stakeholders and working groups, to conduct research, and deliver design and testing of the insulated cross arm prototypes.  You’ll also support the development of installation and maintenance when it’s taken into business as usual.

 

You’ll work closely with the RICA Development Lead, to ensure the project is delivered optimally and incorporates all key elements required, ensuring all decisions within the project progress are documented in the relevant systems and are communicated with reasoning to all relevant stakeholders.

 

This role can be based out of our Deeside Innovation Centre, Warwick or Eakring sites and can be combined with hybrid working from home.

 


 

What you'll need

 

We’re looking for someone from an engineering background, with extensive knowledge of a high voltage overhead line environment, as well as innovation.

 

You’ll have experience in the design or construction of overhead lines and be able to demonstrate the ability to deliver complex projects with multiple cross area stakeholders.  Project management, planning, risk management, budget control and reporting are all key skills.

 

With a track record of developing new technology-based products and services and successfully implementing them back into the business, you’ll also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience giving technical presentations to large audiences.
